Education and Development

We have built a High School to meet the requirements of the tea workers on the farms as well as the communities in the region with special focus on education for the girl child. Stipends have been paid to encourage bright students and Scholarships have been made available for students wanting to pursue further studies.

We have partnered with specialised agencies to conduct workshops on healthcare and hygiene issues with special focus on pre natal and post natal health of women tea workers. A specialised drive was conducted to get all children vaccinated for Hepatitis B.

It is our constant endeavour to uplift the human communities that live and work in the tea farms. Towards this end we have instituted a continuous training program of tea pluckers and workers with a view of up gradation of their skills.

To foster community relationships among the large population of tea workers living on the farms, we have encouraged various sporting and cultural activities. Inter farm football tournaments, community picnics and outings, musical shows, cultural exchanges are all part of this program.

The pathway to a more sustainable future must include access to the basic building blocks of good health, including nutrition, clean water, and immunisations.
